The first time I attended a big conference, I thought I could just pop into sessions and learn my little heart out, then exit just as abruptly with a whole new world of knowledge under my belt.

Nope.

Instead I worked the booth, stood in line for hours, caught one session, and hopped a plane home three days later before I even knew what had happened. Calling it a whirlwind is being polite.
